Hey everyone. Tomorrow is a rain day and also November 11th.
So for those of you who don’t know, while I kept on marching drum corps and going to school, this guy, who I’ve called my best friend for the last 16ish years, this mad lad who equally dove head first into this 12,000 mile journey, Russell Michaud chose to serve in the USAF. As we passed every war monument, it is clear that we are fortunate to live in a time of great peace.
Today I’d like to pay respects to my friends, my mother, father, brother, and many of my family members who have served to protect and preserve this way of life and our right to decide what that way is.
Just the other day we were passing though DC and stopped at the Air force memorial. Russell doesnt always know I take pictures, and sometimes I get lucky to capture some really cool moment. Just yesterday we passed through Quantico National Cemetery.
Helmets and hats off to all the brave men and women who have served and sacrificed for you and I to live today.
Even now, as we sit over a chess board on the porch of the KOA lodge waiting for the rain to clear a bit, Russell doesnt know I’m writing this.
Have a good day everyone. Please don’t ride through cemeteries. Least you can do is walk.
